Skye Sweetnam (born May 5, 1988) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, actress, and music video director. Skye first entered the mainstream in 2003 with the release of her debut single “Billy S.” Over a year later, her debut album, Noise from the Basement, was released including the singles “Tangled Up in Me” and “Number One”. In 2006, she was nominated for a Juno Award for New Artist of the Year. Her second album, Sound Soldier, was released in 2007. Now known by the stage name Sever, she is currently the lead singer of the band Sumo Cyco.

“Noise From The Basement” Era (2003 – 2005): Originally planned for a late 2003 release, the release of Sweetnam’s debut album was postponed several times by the record label, being pushed back to April, then May and finally August of the following year before its official release on September of that same year. Was produced by Skye and James Robertson, a local producer and instrumentalist.

She has been having problems with her label, which has caused the album not to have a release as of yet. In April, she released a song “Stay,” recorded for her second album, Sound Solider, on her MySpace as part of a “Songs from the Vault,” and she just released another one July 9th called “Boomerang.”
